We have BRICK!

Here it is, the long awaited brick!

Also, our walls have texture! YAY! Bring on the paint!

In other house news, we could use some prayers.
Our current land lord is being a turd and making us pay an extra fee to extend our lease.
We have no pets (I don't count Sully since he lives in a little cage), no kids, don't throw wild parties;
we are the perfect renters. Why wouldn't you want us to stay in your rental house?!
We could move to a duplex for free (thanks to the wonderful people building our new house!) but then we would move everything twice just a few weeks apart. Not fun.
We really wanted to be able to move straight from this house to the new one.
If there were a guarantee that our new house would be done by the end of our lease extension we would probably just chalk it up and pay the fee. But there's the possibility that we pay the fee, deal with the cruddy man who owns our current house, and then the new house still isn't done when we need it to be. So we'd be in the same place we are now, just a few weeks later minus a large fee.
Blah. Decision time.

But, as Mr. H so wonderfully reminds me when I start to stress out about aforementioned details, we are extremely blessed and these are problems of luxury.
There is an extremely small percentage of the world's population that ever gets to live in houses as nice as we are, especially at our age.
Many people, both abroad and right here in America, are worried about where their next meal will come from, what clothes they are going to put on themselves or their children, and how they are going to get the medicine that they desperately need. We have none of these worries. We have an abundance of blessings that we hardly take time to notice on a daily basis. Thank you, Lord, for your abundance. Please keep us humble and helping those that are less fortunate.
If my biggest worry of the week is possibly having to move all of my possessions twice, how lucky am I??

Take time to notice your abundance this week! Be blessed :)

Well, I have to say I think the landlord is being ridiculous! Personally I have never heard of a fee to extend a lease. I would make sure the landlord knows that you will be spreading the word about his unreasonable lease terms! Has the new builder given you a time frame for completion?

Your brick color looks like the brick on our second house in Cinco Ranch. I really like the color. Thanks for posting.

Love,
Debby

I have never heard of such nonsense, but was very glad of Matthew's response to the problem. I am so very proud of how well you two are doing, and YES, you are very , very blessed. Your new home is really looking great.

Amen to the abundant blessings! Good job, Matt, in recognizing that! We'll be happy to help you move your things. Just let us know when you need us.

Sometimes these "Little" things can be so annoying...
I am sure all of this will work out for you. Your house is looking
so nice. Just think how much you will enjoy living in it..
You are very blessed... and so good that you realize how fortunate you are.
Hang in there. You will be moved soon.
Love, Grandma & Grandpa T

Your house is looking gorgeous! Can't wait to see it done. We are about a month behind you guys if I am estimating correctly. Sorry about your land lord. You actually would have to move three times if you count moving your classroom. lol!

Have a Great Week,
Alana

Love your perspective on this! Nevertheless, I hope you can come to more reasonable terms with your landlord.
