Overall, the OCM is going well. I have not awoken to a crazy zit-covered face yet :)
Some things I have noticed:
- my face feels well hydrated and even slightly radiant :) I didn't know I had some areas of dull skin, but apparently I did. They're gone now!
- I'm wearing less face makeup because my skin looks more even and toned (only a little concealer and light powder now)
- I've had a couple zits pop us, but that's always to be expected as my face transitions to a new method. hopefully those will stop this week.
- I was afraid that my face wasn't getting "dried out" enough at the beginning, so I added a little more Castor Oil to my mix--I'm at a 3:1 ratio of Castor:EVOO right now.
Here's my cute little bottle of cleanser. It's a travel sized Germ-X bottle and working wonderfully! I used a tiny funnel and measured tablespoons of Castor Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil until I got the desired mixture. Just shake it a little to mix. The info I read said acne-prone skin 3:1, regular skin 1:1, and dry skin 1:3. Like I mentioned above, I'm at about 3:1 right now and it seems to be working well. This little bottle wasn't full to the top when I mixed it last Sunday and has been holding up well. I will say something for this method--it's cheap! My baby bottle will last me at least a month and only costs about $0.50 to fill. Awesome right?!?! If it's no worse than the expensive stuff, might as well, right?
So here's my regime: let the water run in the sink a little while to heat up. Don't wet your face or anything, just make sure you'll have nice hot water when you need it. Pour about a quarter sized circle of oil mixture into your palm. Rub your hands together a little. Massage the oil into your face. Take your time and pretend you're getting a mini facial :) Then get a washcloth and soak it in hot water. Lay the steaming washcloth over your face and enjoy the hot steam--more facial time! After the washcloth has cooled off, rub your face a little to remove the left over oil. I also rub over my eyes at this time and remove my eye makeup. Then rinse the washcloth in hot water. I like to repeat the steam step if I have a couple extra minutes. Why not steam your face twice?! And your done :) No moisturizer or treatment step needed. When I wake up in the morning I just splash a little water on my face to wake up. I don't wash again...
If anyone out there decides to try this, please let me know! I'd love to hear about your story!
Oh yeah, and Mr. H likes to nightly make jokes about me rubbing oil and laxative onto my face :) great times!
