Last year around this time I was getting ready for my first group of kiddos. I posted about it here. This year the stress is a little different but I'm just as ready to get the first couple days over with. I don't mean to be negative a wish them away, but they are always the hardest days of the year. Once I cover my expectations and we all get into a routine things get much easier!
I've moved classrooms and changed the content I teach slightly for this year. I think I'm about ready--I guess I better be! The projector in my classroom is not working, so hopefully first thing Monday morning I'll get a portable replacement. Not ideal, but it'll do. I'm also the only geometry teacher at my school so planning for that class has been a little challenging. I wish I had someone right down the hall that I could collaborate with, but I am definitely blessed to have a close girlfriend teaching it for the second year in a school district just a few miles away. She has already be such a big help and the kids haven't even arrived yet!!
I finished my lesson plans for Monday and Tuesday, and have a rough idea for the rest of the week. It's going to depend on the projector situation and exactly how much we cover the first day. Having Wednesday not perfectly planned yet isn't bugging me :) blessing of peace from the Lord or procrastination on my part? Let's go with the former.
