Okay, on to house pics!
Yes, the brick is still sitting in nice, neat stacks on the ground.
But it's okay.
Really.
I asked about it this week and got an answer that I'm quite pleased with,
I hope it pleases you as well...
There are certain things that must happen before brick goes on and we weren't quite done with those things yet.
One, our builder likes the sheetrock basically completeled before the brick goes up. That way if any last minute wires or cables or pipes need to be run they can still get things in from the outside.
Two, and more important than #1, siding must go up under all the eaves and around all doors and windows.
ie. this...
see that beautiful siding on the underside of EVERYTHING?
and the nice little edges around the windows?
I guess that does make sense to do before brick.
Here's a lot more of it.
Under every piece of roof,
the walls and ceiling of the balcony,
the ceiling of the downstairs outdoor living area,
around every door and window...
and under the porte'-cochere.
And yes, as I mentioned in #1 above, sheetrock is basically done!
the pantry I've been dreaming about!
have I mentioned I LOVE our master bedroom.
walking around the back yard a bit
bye for now! :)

Very nice! It's really taking shape - can't wait to see it when it's finished!
Great pictures! I really like the second one of this post, the angle, the siding and the sky! Is the finished date still early June? Again, thanks for posting.
Love,
Debby
